some jamu tips...try some of the traditional ways.......Sometimes this feelings happen when we are exposed to the cold (or fan) for long hours (like during sleep) or taking a prolonged shower (exposed wet body). We are more prone to 'masuk angin' or 'wind enter the body' when we are tired and/or down.
What will I do if I feel 'unwell' and 'giddiness' over my head and feel like vomiting. I feel my neck is so stiff that I 'don't want to do anything'. My stomarch feels 'full and yet empy' and I don't feel like eating. I would think that most probably it is due to 'masuk angin'. I will not go to the docter. Instead, I will usually do something called 'kerok' (or do 'kerokan') and/or take some 'obat angin' PATPOLES (brand), a mixture of more than 10 different 'herbal' ingredients produced by Soyosan Pharmaceutical Industries (produced in Palambang, Indonesia).I will soon be well again!
'KEROK' is a technique used by most kampong (village) people. At least for me, it is the cheapest, easiest and quickest way to alleviate 'masuk angin', cold and colic (western educated doctors will never agree to this method and may laughed saying why inflick pain on onself of something that have not proven to cure). However, I need a partner to help. It is done by using a larger coin (or something hard and easy to hold in the hand like a porceline made spoon but not hurting) by lightly pressuring while dragging diagonally across the skin. This process is worked on the back, neck, shoulders, backside, front, stomach and even the tights etc., wherever the feeling of 'uneasiness' exist. The 'believe' that the purpose is to 'draw' and 'expel' the 'wind' from the body to improve blood circulation and to push out the 'air or gas' from the abdomen.
People may laugh at this method but it works on me everytime!
Sometimes, whenever I get the 'feeling of masuk angin' coming, I will take a PATPOLES tube (2 gm per tube container) x 3 times a day. The feeling usually disappeared after 2 days.
Try some of these:
For cool/treat pimples and such spots: use jasmine leaves - clean and pound the jasmine leaves into paste like, apply to affected areas and leave for 15 minutes, wash off with warm water;
For sore throat and expell 'angin': use 100 g fresh ginger, 2 cups of water - wash and slice the ginger into fine slices, boil in 2 cups of water, let the boiling continued for 5 minutes, strain the liquid and drink while hot, morning and evening until recover;
For soothing swollen gums: use gambier (uncaria gambeiri), extract from tree bark, 1 cup of water - put pieces of gambier in water and let it soak for 30 minutes, use as mouthwash untill swelling subsides
For soft, smooth skin (or face): use tomato - slice the tomato and put on the face, or hand grind/use blender to tomato paste, apply to the skin for 15 minutes and wash off; another method is using potato - cut the potato into half and rub into skin;
For cleaning the skin: use cucumber - to clean skin, slice cucumber and rub it over face and neck;
For cleaning off blackheads and spots (face): use Indonesian rough green tea - make a mug of tea and leave it overnight, wash face and skin with it in the morning, repeat daily;
For healthy skin: use rice water - put water after washing rice in a container, let it stand until a fine layer of powder at the bottom, pour away the upper clear water, use the bottom layer to rinse face, neck and hands for fresh, soft and healty skin;
2 of the common and general function jamu taken by most females throughout Indonesia:
Jamu 'berus Kencur': general tonic for tiredness, invigorates, improve blook circulation and appetite;
Jamu 'kunir asem': general tonic for treating white vaginal discharge and/or obesity;
Want to try, just stop any 'jamu gendong' (for girls/women/females) in the street and ask for 'kunir asem'. It is very cheap. The liquid yellowish mixture comes in a small glass. One quick gulp and feel the sensation inside.
The above are only suggestions using natural and easily to obtain ingredients at home. However, the effects depends on each individual and may not even have the results or same results as indicated.

Oh yes, Indonesian mysterious jamu remedies has more than 1,000 years history developed in a beautiful and facinating environment that made up of over 17,500 islands, home to over 200 million people, more than 200 different tribes speaking over 500 different local dialects. Many people have the perception that Indonesian traditional healing remedies sometimes seem quite mystical as they may include a combination of spiritual, religious, chanting, 'magical' and herbal elements. This secretive herbal mixture of health and cosmetics treatments and receipes are handed down from mothers to daughters for generations. Those skilled at preparing jamu were consulted by neighbours. Demand eventually resulted in small family businesses around the neighbourhood.
Indonesian medical profession recognised the value of matural apothecary when the Second Congress of the Indonesian Physicians Association take place in June 1940 revolutionized the future of traditional medicine. The Mothers' Association of Yogyakarta conducted an expo entitled 'traditional Indonesian remedies' to coincide with the Congress assembly. During the Japanese occupation between 1942 to 1944, the Dai Nippon government set up 'Indonesian Traditonal Medicines Committee' in June 1944 to coordinate with the Indonesian Physicians' Association in support of traditional medicine producers. Later, during the fight for independence, doctors turned to herbal remedies to treat patients as orthodox medicines were short in supply. As the demand for traditional medicines increased, the development of the industry accelerated in the last 20 years.
Herbal medicines are not 'overnight' remedies and required a period of time to experience the effects. The 'cure' is somewhat gradual and does not have any harmful side effects. Some jamu are mixed with poisonous herbs and should be administered with care for being potential toxic. The herbalist knows how to 'neutralize' and 'balance' the ingredients. Sometimes, jamu is taken alongside a course of traditional massare to speed up the healing process. There are three categories of ingredients in a single jamu prescription: the direct main ingredients, the supporting ingredients and additive ingredients to improve the taste for easy consumption. They are mixed together for administering. It supposed to produce 4 basic functions : direct effect to the illness concerned such as kidney stones, cancer, diarrhoea etc.; maintenance of the continuation of good health and well being through promotion of blood circulation, increased metabolism etc.; relieves aches and pains through reduced inflammation, aiding digestive system etc.; addresses certain body functional deficiencies such as fertility, unpleasant body odour, general tonic for prevention of stomach infections, 'masuk angin', antiseptic etc. Practically every Javanese woman and many men use jamu on a regular basis for a variety of health related reasons.
Although today, large jamu productions were prepared in modern factories into pills, powder mixtures in packages, cosmetics lotions etc., and available outside of Indonesia, anyone can still engaged a 'jamu gendong' on the streets of Indonesian cities for a dose of 'hot stuff'.... the sensational feelings of the mixture flowing down inside the digestive channel in the body.

The best way off course, is through breast-feeding. A baby receives antibodies through the mother's milk, including all the nutrients needed for the first 6 months. The immune system can be optimized to prevent infection, diseases and minimized the impact of allergies. Water from the tap contains harmful chemicals like chlorine and/or fluoride. Plastic bottled water transfer chemicals from the plastic into the water. Distilled water contains no minerals. With non-organic vegetables, rinse in cold water with a couple of spoonful of white vinegar to help remove pesticides. Vegetables that can be eaten in unlimited amounts are red and green leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, brocoli, chinese cabbage, bok choy, fennel, radishes, green onions, endive, escarole, celery, cucumbers, cauliflower, squash, zucchini, brussels sprouts, turnips, dandelion greens, green and red cabbage, jerusalem artichokes, kohlrabi, cilantro and parsley. Eat wisely with vegetables of high suga contains like carrot. Large amount of coffee acts as a diuretic, causing the loss of important trace minerals. Healty fats provide omega-3,6,9 essential fatty acids around joints. One of the best source is hempseed oil. Raw sunflower and pumpkin seeds are also good source of fats.
Whenever possible, use and eat the following wisely and/or avoid:
Use high sugar vegetables wisely such as carrot, packaged cereals, etc. Artificial sweeteners are
best to be avoided. Eat fruits like banana, oranges, papaya, mangoes, melons and other
'sweet' tasting tropical fruits wisely as they contain high sugar.
Avoid peanuts.
Use trans-fatty acids wisely.
Use commercial milk and dairy products wisely.
Use fruit juices from manufacturing processes and bottled, including 'organic' 'unsweetened' varieties wisely.
Use pork and most commercially processed meat wisely. Becareful of raw meat and water
because parasites are found in highest concentration in meat and sea food. Avoid shell fish.
Becareful and/or avoid using microwave ovens. There is evidence that suggests microwaves can
seriously deplete foods of their enzymes and nutrients while creating radiation byproducts that
may cause negative health effects.
Whenever possible, use a combination of vitamins, minerals, herbs and other natural food that increase interferon production and bolster immunity. Consider the following supplements and food:
Vitamin A and beta-carotene- best source is cod liver oil (one tablespoon a day) to reduce the
severity of measles infections, essential fatty acid omega3 for anti-inflammatory benefits.

Vitamen E
Wheat grass is rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes and enhances
interferon production. Best taken in juice form.
Larch arabinogalactan is found in a wide range of plants, including carrots, radishes, black beans,
pears, wheat and tomatoes etc. It has potent immune-enhancing properties and good source
of dietary fiber. Supplement available in powder form.
Bovine colostrum -first mammary secretion from female mammals provide newborns in the first 24 to
48 hours after birth. It contains numerous immune system and growth factors.
Probiotics - from cultured dairy products such as yogurt, acidophilus milk, buttermilk, sour cream,

Vaccines are products sold for profit that carry the risk of injury or death and yet practically forced upon every healthy person. The older the lonelier, emotions tend to be a distant memory and diminish each day and pain is often the only feeling left.
For those people who want to be happy and 'believe' that they can be happy, it is insufficient trying to 'believe' that they will be happy ever after. How to belief? I believed that when I got married and have kids. What happened? It is not even close!
Believes must be acceptable to the conscious and subconscious minds. Believes must give meaning to life, its very existance and make sense of it all. Meaning to fill the emptiness within that so many poeple tried to fill with pleasure, power games, plots, night lives etc., which caused much emotional troubles in the end and depression, especially those who fail to achieve or get what they are after. As many people grow older, they tend to go 'spiritual' and try to be philosophical about life and turn emptiness into meaning. Well, this could be one way!
People experience live through feelings and emotions which are the driving force, power and motor. They give meaning to live. Emotions are conditioned by beliefs! People react more to beliefs than to facts or other things. Once perceived and 'believed', it is difficult to change that perceiption.
Change! Change the already programmed/steroetyped subconscious mind from a 'negative' outlook on life to a positive energized outlook! It is not going to be easy as spontaneous concious decisions have little influence on the subconcious mind, sometimes even contradictory and most of the time the subconcious mind wins. It is clear that if change is to happen, the old programmed/steroetyped subconcious mind must be thrown out and devise a new one to imprint into it.
There are many reports demonstrating the influence of feelings and emotions on health and disease. A study of the suvival rate of women with breast cancer showed that 10 years later, 70% of those who reacted to the diagnosis with a fighting spirit were still alive while those who reacted with denail had a 50% survival rate. Those with stoic accpetance had a 25% survival rate. Those who felt hopeless and helpless only 20% survived. The negative effect of mental depression on our immune system is well known. Even kids experinece it too and suffered!
There are also the influence of physical factors on emotions. Physical relationship, environment, nutrition, tense bondy muscle structures etc., can effect emotions. Therefore, there is a need to work on and balance out the biological, emotional, mental and spritual levels to stay healthy and wellness.
Believe, believe that there is always a way out of this 'money face', hypocratic, unnecesaary, wasteful, bills paying, depressing jungle of negative and disappointments.
